Ford in summer

A ford is a watercourse that runs over the surface of a road, that is often passable with care in a vehicle.  However, the depth of water can vary significantly due to weather conditions and it may not always be safe to do so.

Our procedure for dealing with the more difficult fords within Cambridgeshire following a request from the Environment Agency is available on the right hand side.

For further information regarding flooding and the flood warning codes, please visit the Environment Agency website using the Floodline link provided.
