Road Safety Officers are available to give information and advice on a range of road safety topics. A loan scheme of educational resources is also available free of charge.
Theatre In Education
Every year theatre groups are commissioned to visit Cambridgeshire shools, providing an exciting way to transmit road safety messages.
Pre-Driver Training
Available to years 10/11/12 these courses prepare young adults for learning to drive.
The courses cover issues such as speeding, drinking/drugs and driving and peer pressure.
Toy Bags
Full of road safety educational toys, available for loan free of charge to all Pre-school groups in the county.
Spike the Road Safety hedgehog
Spike, the Road Safety team's mascot, makes regular visits around the county, informing children of the importance of issues such as being seen, and crossing roads safely. Please contact us if you would like a visit from Spike.
Pedal Power
Pedal Power is 'off road' training for 7 to 9 year olds, and is a good starting point for those going on to the Safer Cycling Scheme.
The Safer Cycling Scheme
The Safer Cycling Scheme is an 'on the road' training course for 10+ year olds. Devised by the Road Safety Section, the scheme is run by volunteer Cycle Instructors through individual primary schools. The CD Rom BikeIt which compliments the cycle training scheme but also acts as a stand alone resource is available for loan or purchase.
Adult Cycle Training
A joint initiative with Cambridge City Council Cambridge Cycling Campaign and Cycle Friendly Employers offers cycle training to adults either in small groups or on an individual basis tailored to the persons needs.
