To access any of the services outlined below please contact the Road Safety Education Team.
Additional electronic resources are available from the Department for Transport's Think! Education website.
Qwizdom interactive presentations
We have two separate presentations: (1) for pupils in Year 7-9 addressing pedestrian, cycling and passenger safety; (2) for pupils in Year 11-13 addressing drink/drug driving, distraction, young driver and passenger safety. The qwizdom sessions use handsets provided by the Road Safety Team and are run by a Road Safety Officer.
Storyboard
For pupils in Year 7-9, these sessions are discussion based lessons where pupils are given a scripted scenario and discuss the actions of each character in groups. The session covers pedestrian, cycling and passenger safety and Road Safety Officers can provide all the information for school staff to deliver the session themselves.
Theatre in education
Road Safety Officers procure and facilitate tours of theatre for different year groups. This is subject to available funding and details will be sent to schools as and when theatre tours are made available. Last year Road Safety Officers worked with Cambridge Regional College to develop their own Road Safety production ‘For my Girlfriend’ and may be able to work with other schools/colleges to do similar projects.
‘In the can’ competition
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Road Safety Partnership has signed up to the project and Road Safety Officers can support schools/colleges and individuals in entering the ‘In the can’ road safety film making competition.
Cycle training
A range of cycle training services are available.
Other paper resources are available, including posters, leaflets and information packs. These are subject to availability and change.
Please note that Road Safety staff resource is limited, so to avoid disappointment please contact the Road Safety Team with as much notice as possible.
