Introducing the Safer Routes to School (SRTS) project

 

What is the SRTS project?


SRTS helps teachers, parents/carers and children to reduce car use on the school journey and adopt a more sustainable approach to getting to school by walking and cycling thereby increasing their independence, health and fitness.

This is achieved through:

  • Education
  • Encouragement
  • Engineering

What are the benefits?

  • Healthier pupils and staff
  • Reduced congestion around the school
  • Improved roadcraft and awareness in children
  • Increased opportunities for interaction with wider community
  • access to SRTS specific education resources
