Over recent years, schools have been submitting information to Government on the way pupils travel to school as part of the annual school census. In 2008 Cambridgeshire County Council set targets as part of the Local Transport Plan for the reduction of car use on the journey to school. Targets have recently been extended to cover the coming 5 years (from 2012 onwards).
