Cambridgeshire County Council were awarded Beacon Status in the theme Better Local Public Transport (2004-2005).
Beacon Scheme is run by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and adminstered by the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA).
Beacon status is awarded to those authorities who have shown innovation and achievement in particular fields. Beacon Authorities are required to share their best practice with other authorities.
Through out 2004/5 Cambridgeshire have been organising events and disimination information. A number of different authorities contacted us and attended events.
