Current transport strategies and plans

These pages provide details of Cambridgeshire County Council's current transport strategies, plans and policies and those which are in the process of being developed.

The Third Local Transport Plan (LTP3) is the overarching transport plan for Cambridgeshire and has been in place since April 2011.

In addition, strategies are in place or are being developed for specific geographical locations, for example the Market Town Transport Strategies (which each focus on a particular market town) and the Transport Strategy for Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire.

The Cambridge Corridor Area Transport Plans provide guidance relating to new development in and around Cambridge.  They set out what transport infrastructure and services are needed to support new developments, and how much particular sites should pay towards these.

The Network Service Plan is produced each year and sets out the works which will be carried out on the transport network during that year.

The Highways Policies and Standards document sets out  how Cambridgeshire's highway network will be managed, maintained and operated.

Cambridgeshire County Council is also working closely with central Government and other partners to look at the A14.  See documents below for the response of Cambridgeshire County Council and South Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, East Cambridgeshire and Fenland District Councils to the Department of Transport's "A14 Challenge".
