What is the Local Transport Plan

The Cambridgeshire Local Transport Plan (LTP) sets out our existing and future transport issues and how we will seek to address them. There have to date been three Cambridgeshire Local Transport Plans. The current LTP covers the period between 2006/07 and 2010/11. We are currently in the process of formulating a new one, LTP3 which will be adopted from Spring 2011.

In July 2009, the Department for Transport issued guidance to local authorities on what a new plan should include and we are now in the early stages of preparing the new plan for Cambridgeshire.

As we progress our work on the Third Local Transport Plan, more details will be posted on this page, to keep you updated.

Previous Local Transport Plans

Details of the Local Transport Plans that preceded the formulation of the third Local Transport Plan can be found under the links to the left hand side of this page.

LTP Annual Progress Reports

To monitor how well we were doing at achieving LTP objectives, each year during the first LTP (2001 - 2006) and the interim LTP (2004 - 2011)we submitted an LTP Annual Progress Report (APR) to the Government. These describe how we spent the money we were allocated, what schemes were delivered and how well we were progressing towards our targets.

We produced five Annual Progress Reports in all, detailing progress on the delivery of the programme and targets included in our LTP 2001-2006 and LTP 2004-2011. The latest of these was submitted to Government in July 2005. In 2006 we submitted a delivery report which summarised progress made between 2001 and 2006.

During the period covered by LTP2 (2006 - 2011) we have not been required to produce yearly reports, however we produced a delivery report in 2008 to set out our progress since 2006.

Both the progress reports and the delivery reports can be viewed via the links on the left hand side of this page.
