Stagecoach and Whippet Coaches will run bus services on The Busway. As well as single tickets being available a range of day and weekly tickets will offer even better value for money.
Purchasing a ticket
When the bus is on the track you must purchase your ticket before you board the bus from the ticket machine, much like you would a train. When buying your ticket you must decide if you are traveling with Stagecoach or Whippet as tickets cannot be transferred. When guided buses are on normal roads you can buy your ticket from the driver as you get on.

Concessionary bus passes
Concessionary bus passes will also be accepted on buses running on The Busway under the same terms and conditions as on other buses in the county. Information on concessionary bus passes can be found by clicking on the link on the right of the screen.
Multi-operator tickets
A multi-operator ticket is being developed for The Busway which will be the first of its kind in the country. As this type of ticket is brand new it will take time to make sure it is right, and tested, before it is launched. In the future you will be able to purchase a ticket that allows you to ride on any bus running on The Busway, no matter which operator runs the service.
For more information about multi-operator tickets please look at our frequently asked questions on the right hand side.
