A street party in Cambridge

If you are thinking about holding an event in Cambridgeshire then these pages will help you to consider the impact you may have on the road network.

Your event, even if it is not directly taking place on a road, could still cause disruption to the traffic in Cambridgeshire, especially if you expect a high attendance.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary, in most cases, will no longer provide traffic management for events, which includes the provision and putting out of signs to close roads or direct the traffic for you and so you need to take this into consideration.

To carry out traffic management for an event, such as planning, acquiring and the putting out of signs or using temporary traffic lights, qualifications to carry out work on the highway will be required. You may need to look in to hiring a traffic management company to do this for you.

Please contact us at least 4 months before your event, if you would like help and guidance from the Traffic Manager's Team.

If you are planning an event complete the "Event notification form" under the links area on the right hand side.
