Adult Social Care

The Children, Families and Adults Directorate develops communities in which older people and adults affected by disability (learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and HIV/AIDS) are fully engaged, so they can exercise choice and control over their lives.

Children's Social Care

The Children, Families and Adults Directorate provides social care services, manages purchasing budgets for social care and some education provision, as well as ensuring they and other agencies comply with safeguarding guidance.

Learning

The Children, Families and Adults Directorate works with early years schools and organisations to promote high standards and provide support and curriculum enrichment opportunities, as well as leading on workforce development across services for children.

Strategy and Commissioning

The Children, Families and Adults Directorate leads on planning, performance and partnership arrangements including commissioning.

Enhanced and Preventative Services

The Children, Families and Adults Directorate provides a range of local universal preventative services and more specialist services for children and families that may be more vulnerable.

Older People and Mental Health Services

We have statutory responsibilities for the care and support of older people and for mental health of all ages. This includes responsibility for outcomes, performance and budget management.
