James Palmer

James Palmer was elected Mayor for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough on 4 May 2017.

The Mayor will chair the new Combined Authority and will be a focal point of leadership for central government, business and other partners.

By having a Combined Authority and a Mayor in place, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will receive:

  • £170 million to deliver new homes over a five year period
  • £20 million a year funding over 30 years to boost growth in the region
  • responsibility for chairing a review of 16+ skills provision in the area
