We are now taking provisional venue bookings for dates from June 21st onwards. All meeting rooms are currently operating at reduced capacities in line with government restrictions.

Are you looking for somewhere to hold a business meeting, community event, or team get together? Cambridgeshire Libraries meeting rooms can be hired out for employers, council partners, community groups and individuals.

Situated on the 3rd Floor of Central Library, Cambridge, these modern and professional venue facilities are conveniently located in the heart of the city centre. Our versatile venue space can accommodate up to 100 attendees across the six meeting rooms. Hire of these facilities is highly affordable and meeting rooms are priced at an hourly rate, so you only pay for the time required. The venue is supported by a team of friendly staff.

Facilities and equipment

Conference room

This room has been designed to offer a flexible venue for any event. It is perfect to host larger meetings, training events and lectures. The room features a retractable partition wall that allows your event to spread into the main library, exhibition space and refreshment area. This means any event can either be closed or open to the general public.

Accommodates 24 attendees in boardroom, 32 in cabaret, 16 in classroom, 30 in horseshoe, and 50 in theatre style seating.

Seminar room

The Seminar Room is suited to hosting meetings, interviews, training sessions and presentations. This room is located in a non-public area and is designed for privacy.

  • Accommodates 16 attendees in boardroom, 16 in cabaret, 12 in classroom, 20 in horseshoe, and 25 in theatre style seating
  • Size of room: 7.30m x 5.20m
  • Dedicated air conditioning
  • Laptop, projector and screen, SMARTboard, and portable microphone system
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Flip chart and marker board
  • Hearing loop
  • Rates: commercial £44.50 per hour, council partner £24 per hour, community £21 per hour

Interview rooms

These rooms are ideal for smaller meetings, breakout sessions, interviews and other group work. Our interview rooms are comfortable, practical and very affordable.

  • Rooms can accommodate up to 6 attendees.
  • Size of room 2: 2.80m x 3.85m Size of room 4 and room 5: 2.70m x 2.60m
  • Rooms 4 and 5 are located off the main floor of the library so they may be less confidential with some noise disturbance.

Exhibition space

The large exhibition space is in the public area right next to the library refreshment area, where snacks/hot and cold drinks can be purchased from the vending machines. This means that whether you are displaying art, photography or a public exhibition, there will always be people around to see it. This space is also available to hire for local art and craft sales.

  • Hired for weekly bookings (Monday pm – Monday am). Daily hire can be requested and considered

  • Rates: commercial £200 per week , council partner £120 per week, community £96 per week

Foyer space

The foyer space is situated on the 1st Floor, right by the entrance in the public area, offering a prominent location for your display. This area has excellent exposure and is ideal to promote your services or organisation to everyone who visits the library.

Payment methods

Cambridge Central Library can accept cash or card payments. We can also send you an invoice but there may be a surcharge for invoices under £50.
