Ditchburn Place sheltered housing scheme

Ditchburn Place has a total of 36 extra care flats, arranged over 3 floors, all with lift access. All flats are 1 bedroom and were refurbished in 2018/19. They include a bedroom, living room, kitchen and level access bathroom with shower. The flats range in size and some are suitable for couples. The care is provided by Radis who are present on the site 24/7.

We provide 3 meals a day as a condition of tenancy. The cost of the meals is charged through the individuals rent account and part of it is covered by housing benefit if an individual is eligible. The meals are all freshly prepared  onsite each day and the menu changes on a seasonal basis. Tenants are able to come to one of 4 dining rooms located around the site for their meals, which will be served and cleared away by the care team. The care team are able to assist people to and from the dining rooms should they require it, and they are also able to deliver meals to individual flats if they prefer. This needs to be included as part of an individual’s care package. Alternatively, individuals can choose to collect their meal from the dining room, in which case this does not need to be included in the care package.

A weekly laundry and cleaning service is also provided to each person as a condition of tenancy and is charged through the rent account. We also have a handyperson service and on-site care takers who can complete small jobs for individuals. A hairdressers is available onsite at an extra charge.
