March Can't Sing Choir

The choir is Pay-As-You-Go, welcoming all those who come through the door.

If you have a health condition or impairment for which you need a carer, you are welcome but please note the carer must stay with you.

To be clear, we are not a specialist Dementia choir, but we help where we can.

We are not a SATB choir. There is no audition, and no need to read music.

We sing popular songs from the 1940s to the present, including seasonal songs, both in unison and parts-singing.

We open at 6.15pm and sing from 6.30pm to 8.30pm every Wednesday evening at St Peter's Church , 54 High Street, March, PE15 9JR.

Opening time notes

The choir sings all the year round, with some pre-notified exceptions. We advise closures via email, Facebook and in advance where possible during weekly sessions. In conjunction with our Choir Leader/Musical Director, we accept occasional performance requests from outside organisations. About four weeks notice is desirable for such requests. We ask for a donation to cover choir expenses, but registered Charities may be given special consideration.

Eligibility

The choir was set up in 2016 by a grant from Healthy Fenland, to support mental and physical wellbeing.

Referral

The choir is run by volunteers. We have a Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.

Facilities and equipment

Public transport nearby, wheelchair accessible, accessible toilet without alarm.

You may bring your own drink, but refreshments are also available for a small charge. Please bring your own mug.

  • Cost: £4.00 per person - pay-as-you-go. Your first taster session is free. There is no charge for non-singing carers.
  • Age range: 18 - 99+
