March Waste Recycling Centre
- Provided by:
- Cambridgeshire County Council
In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement on 23 March, all Household Recycling Centres across Cambridgeshire are closed until further notice. The decision to close sites has not been taken lightly but it is essential to encourage residents to stay at home and limit the spread of Coronavirus.
If you were planning to visit a recycling centre, please hold on to the items you were planning to take until they are reopened.
During this time, we ask residents to act responsibly and not place items such as DIY waste, garden waste, or recycling into their kerbside general rubbish collection. This will take up space in the collection vehicles needed for general household rubbish. Try to limit your food waste by home composting and using your freezer. If you have food waste it can be disposed of in your general waste bin.
If you or anyone in your home is self-isolating or confirmed to have Coronavirus, all personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.
Please help ensure the safety of our operatives and stop the spread of COVID-19.
There are nine Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) in Cambridgeshire. They are managed by Amey under contract to Cambridgeshire County Council.
HRCs are provided for Cambridgeshire residents to bring their household waste.
Some vehicles may require an e-permit to dispose of household waste at the HRCs. For more information, please visit our Household Recycling Centre e-permit scheme webpage.
Further information about disposing of waste, as well as our policies, can be found on our Waste and Recycling webpages.
Monday to Saturday - 8am to 4pm
Sunday - 9am to 4pm
Entrance gates shut 10 minutes before closing time
The centre operates Sunday opening hours on bank holidays. It is closed from 1pm on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
