Statutory Assessment and Resources Team (START)

Managing the Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan needs assessment process for children with special educational needs, operating within statutory timescales in the SEND Code of Practice. SEN Casework Officers ensure that appropriate assessments are carried out and information gathered from parents, carers, children and young people, and relevant professionals.Managing the process for transferring Statements of SEN / Learning Disability Assessments (LDAs) to EHC plans within statutory timescales.

Eligibility

Children and young people who have complex special educational needs or disabilities.

Referral

Schools or early years providers such as nurseries, health professionals or children’s social care can refer a child for a statutory assessment. Parents/carers can request an assessment for their child.

  • Friday:8.45am – 4.20pm
