Work is about to start (1 April 2014) on a £600,000 project to protect the road surface in streets around Cambridge.
Specialist contractors will be applying Micro Asphalt in two coats on the roads which will seal the surface and help prevent damage by the ingress of water.
The work will be carried out during April and September (depending on weather) and will require the roads to be closed for short periods to allow access for the operational equipment and to allow the new surface coating to cure.
Local residents and business will be informed in advance and the road closures will be kept as short as possible to reduce traffic disruption.
