In most cases the photographs are taken vertically, but some are oblique shots. There is a large collection of oblique photographs taken by Aerofilms between 1920 and 1971 [539/] and there are others among the Cambridgeshire County Council's collections, c. 1920-1965, which can be identified by searching our online catalogue by place

RAF 1952

1:5000 scale vertical photography of Cambridge City, including extra flights over the west of Cambridge.

RAF May - June 1953

1:10,000 scale vertical photography of Central Cambridgeshire from Willingham in the North to Thriplow in South, Dry Drayton in the West to Stow cum Quy in the East.

RAF 1954 & 1956

1:10,000 scale vertical photography of Western (taken Jan & Aug. 1954 & April 1956) and Eastern Cambridgeshire (May 1956) i.e. the areas either side of the 1953 flights.

a) 1954

Three areas of western Cambridgeshire were covered: Conington & Boxworth, Guilden Morden and Melbourn & Meldreth area.

b) 1956

The rest of the western and eastern areas were flown in 1956

B.K.S Survey 1962

1:10,000 scale vertical photography of Cambridgeshire, excluding Huntingdonshire and the Isle of Ely.

Meridian Survey 1969

1:10,000 scale vertical photography of Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely. Some Cambridgeshire photos are missing. The Huntingdonshire runs are held at Huntingdon Library and Archives.
