Superheroes and sunflowers are keeping families in East Cambs entertained during half-term at two Child and Family centres.
Youngsters came dressed as their favourite superheroes for a party at Ely Child and Family Centre on Wednesday (May 30) and took part in activities such as super slime, mask making and hand paintings.
Littleport Child and Family Centre is also hosting an event on Friday, June 1 where children and young people are invited to ‘dress for mess’ and enjoy everything sunflower-related.
Cambridgeshire County Council’s new refreshed and redesigned Child and Family Centres and Zones launched on April 1 to better meet the needs of a growing and rural county with activities and events taking place in a range of new locations and an extended focus on families with children of all ages.
The new offer also includes outreach groups, events and activities in libraries, churches and other community buildings in towns and villages across the county.
Cllr Simon Bywater, Cambridgeshire County Council’s Children and Young People Committee chairman, said: “These fun half-term events are a great example of the type of activities and support on offer across our network of Child and Family Centres and Zones for families in the county. We have events happening in a range of new locations and for new communities like Clay Farm and Northstowe with a broader focus on families with children of all ages which we hope people will enjoy.”
