The Conservative candidate Peter Hudson has won the by-election to represent Willingham on Cambridgeshire County Council.

Five candidates stood in the by-election which was held yesterday, Thursday, May 22 and the votes counted today, Friday.

The full results are:

Peter Cecil Henry Hudson - Conservative - 1252
John Martin Hale - UKIP - 642
Ben Monks - Labour - 471
Susan Gymer - Liberal Democrat - 338
Helen Stocks - Green Party - 295

Turn out was 38.44 per cent.

The by-election was held to coincide with local and European elections. It was called following the resignation of Conservative Councillor Ray Manning.
