Explore Your Archive is an annual campaign coordinated by The National Archives and the Archives and Records Association on behalf of the archive sector across the UK and Ireland which aims to showcase the unique potential of archives to excite people, bring communities together, and tell amazing stories.

This year, Cambridgeshire Archives was delighted to host a visit by television and radio presenter Diane Louise Jordan and Jessamy Carlson, Partnerships & Programme Manager at The National Archives. Diane, who lives in Holme, is an ambassador for Explore Your Archives and keen to find out more about the history of her house and Holmewood Hall. Staff at Huntingdonshire Archives helped Diane explore historic maps of the area, photographs and sale particulars. She was also able to examine a wonderfully well-preserved court roll for the manor of Holme dating from 1422 and a beautiful 1611 Grant of the Manor of Glatton and Holme.

Cambridgeshire County Council's Archives and Local Studies Manager, Alan Akeroyd said: "If you're like Diane and would like to learn more about where you live, then our expert staff are more than happy to give tips and advice on the resources available at Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Archives. If you're still unsure about where to start or simply don't have time to visit the Archives, ask about our research service.'
