Teenagers in Fenland will be able to take part in three art and writing workshops this summer in their local libraries.

"ImagiNation" is a joint summer reading and arts project involving 10 library services in the East of England - supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Chatteris, March and Wisbech libraries will be offering the workshops.

The programme starts at Chatteris Library, where highly acclaimed storyteller, author and stand -up comedian James Campbell will be leading "˜Welcome to My Nightmare', three linked workshops on writing ghost and horror stories inspired by dreams, nightmares and strange experiences. Tuesday 29 July 10am "“ 12pm, Wednesday 30 July 10am - 3.30pm and Thursday 31 July 10am - 3.30pm.

March Library will be hosting "˜The Great 10 Hour Book Cover Challenge'. Children's book illustrators Josie Birch and Esther Cooper-Wood will be challenging young people to design book covers for some of their favourite stories and will demonstrate a variety of drawing, design and lettering techniques. Wednesday 20 August 10am - 3.30pm and Wednesday 27 August 10am - 3.30pm.

Wisbech Library will hold a Manga Boot Camp where enthusiasts can learn drawing and page layout techniques from highly acclaimed Manga artist, Irina Richards. Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August 10am - 3pm.

Refreshments and lunch are provided. All sessions are open to young people aged 11-16 and are free. Numbers are limited so early booking is essential, contact [email protected]
