Cambridgeshire now has its own website for job vacancies in early years and childcare.
eycJobs has been launched by Cambridgeshire County Council to address recruitment challenges faced by providers. It will bring together vacancies, careers advice, and support and information for providers on recruiting and retaining staff.
The new site works alongside the Teach in Cambs website, a joint project with Cambridgeshire schools to address wider recruitment challenges in education. Job seekers can search by job type or location to find the jobs that are relevant to them.
Graham Arnold, Sector Development Manager for the Early Years Service, offered this view: “We are delighted to be offering this more accessible and attractive service to our providers. All of the jobs on the site will be permanent or short-term vacancies, advertised directly by early years and childcare providers and each vacancy will be visible on a separate page.
“The new site demonstrates the council’s commitment to addressing recruitment needs in the sector. We will be doing everything we can to build the new site up, to make it the place to look for jobs, and to advertise. We will also be adding a range of advice and information on childcare careers and recruitment and retention."
Lynne Birch, who manages the Teach in Cambs website, added: “We are delighted to join forces with the Early Years Service to offer a wider range of vacancies for people seeking jobs in education and care. Cambridgeshire is a great place to live and work, and pre-schools, nurseries and out of school clubs will now be able to enjoy the facilities of the Teach in Cambs site to attract the best candidates and promote their provision.”
