Resurfacing is due to take place along Newnham Road in Cambridge later this month.

The road works will take place from the roundabout with the A603 (Fen Causeway) to the junction with Silver Street in the city over three days from 26-28 April. Work will start at 8pm, stopping at 2.30am and a full road closure will be in place during this time.

Residents are urged to help the Council out by parking elsewhere during the work to avoid delays.

Cambridgeshire County Council’s Project Engineer Joshua Rutherford said “We need to replace the road surface as it has deteriorated. We know it can be an inconvenience to residents when we need to carry out these types of essential works, however, we’ve tried to schedule it so it is completed in the shortest period of time, whilst causing the least amount of disruption to residents. What we are replacing the current surface with will be more durable and noticeably quieter for residents.”

The diversion for the route whilst closed will be A1134-A603-A1134.
