The Home Front: Cambridgeshire Commemorates the End of World War II, is being coordinated by Cambridgeshire County Council alongside Cambridge City Council, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire and South Cambridgeshire District Councils.

Events will take place between May and September and will be an opportunity for Cambridgeshire residents to commemorate the wartime effort and wartime Britain, learn and reminisce about the 'unforgettable forties' era and capture some of the celebratory mood of the time.

Residents can keep up to date with the latest activities announced on the newly launched webpages at www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/ww2

Cambridgeshire County Council's Deputy Leader and Chairman of the Cambridgeshire Community Covenant (Military) Board, Councillor Mac McGuire said "We'd encourage any residents or community groups that are thinking of organising something to get in touch and let us know their plans. We're already starting to hear about a number of events that are planned and this summer is set to be a very fitting tribute for the commemoration."
