Please find below a list of road closures/events that may affect your travel plans for the coming few weeks.

The Great Get Together & Big Lunch 17-18 June 2017:

Due to planned local street parties in celebration of the Great Get Together, the following roads will be closed over the big weekend.

17 June:

  • Garden Walk, Cambridge closed from Bateson Road-Victora Road (A1134) from 10:00am-7:30pm.
  • George Street, Cambridge from 9:00am-10:00pm.
  • Thornton Road, Girton (nos. 1 – 103) from 1:00-10:00pm.

18 June:

  • Belvoir Road between Humberstone Road and Aylestone Road, Cambridge from 12:00-6:00pm.
  • Tennis Court Avenue, Huntingdon from 8:00am-10:00pm.

Cycling Event 17 June 2017:

Due to a cycling event taking place on 17 June between 2:00-6:30pm, the public are made aware that many roads in central Cambridge may be affected and have more traffic than usual. You are advised to take extra care as there is a large traffic of cyclists expected.

Affected roads in Cambridge include: East Road, Newmarket Road, Coldhams Lane (C298 & A1134), Brooks Road, Cherry Hinton Road, Hills Road, Brooklands Avenue, Trumpington Road, The Fen Causeway, Queens Road, Northampton Street, Chesterton Lane, Chesterton Road (A1134), Victoria Avenue, King Street, Hobson Street, St. Andrews Street, Regent Street, Gonville Place, Perne Road (A1134), Cambridge Footpath (108,40,39,38,37), Chaucer Road, Granta Place, Mill Lane, Trumpington Street (C294) and Silver Street.

Armed Forces Day 18 June 2017:

Armed Forces Day will be held between 8:00am - 6:00pm. Due to which the following roads in Wisbech will be closed: Market Place, Church Terrace, Market St, Hill St, High St, Union St, and Little Church St.

Chatteris Midsummer Festival 24 June 2017:

Due to this year’s Chatteris Midsummer Festival 2017 taking place from 9:00am-1:00pm on 24 June, the following roads will be closed: Church Lane (9:00am - 12:00pm), Market Hill, High Street and Furrowfields Road (10:30am - 1:00pm).
