Conservative candidate Chris Boden has won the by-election to represent Whittlesey North on Cambridgeshire County Council.

Three candidates stood in the by-election which was held yesterday, Thursday, May 7 and the votes counted today, Friday.

The full results are:

Chris Boden "“ Conservative "“ 2,237
Paul Newton Edwards "“ UKIP "“ 1,131
David Chapman "“Liberal Democrat - 615

Turn out was 65.5 per cent and 4,072 votes cast.

The by-election was held to coincide with the General and local elections It was called following the resignation of Conservative Councillor Martin Curtis.
