Cambridgeshire County Council is proposing making changes to the Council’s Fairer Contributions Policy.
The Fairer Contributions Policy applies to adults aged 18+ only.
The Fairer Contributions Policy explains the amount a person will need to pay for social care support (their contribution). The aim of the Policy is to make sure that the amount a person pays for support is fair, based on their ability to pay, and in proportion to the level of support they receive.
The Council’s Fairer Contributions Policy is available here:
The Council works out what a person needs to pay by completing a financial assessment. The financial assessment looks at a person’s income and savings and works out how much they will need to pay towards their support and what the Council will pay.
The proposed changes to the Policy will affect how the Council asks for contributions towards the cost of some of our care and support services.
Therefore, the Council is holding a consultation on four proposed changes to the Fairer Contributions Policy. The details of the proposed changes to the Policy are outlined in the survey below.
How you can take part
The Council is writing to all those who may be affected by the proposed changes to the policy to seek their views.
