Help with school & learning costs

There are costs associated with your child going to school. In some circumstances you may be entitled to help.

Key information

If you are in receipt of certain benefits your child may be entitled to free school meals, saving you up to £400 a year on paying for school meals.

If your child gets transport to a denominational school, you may be able to get assistance towards paying this. To find out more, please see the Home to School Transport policy on the transport to school page.

Please note: The secondary school clothing allowance was withdrawn in 2014 and applications are no longer accepted. You should contact your school directly to find out if they are part of a local scheme.
