Expansion of Little Paxton Primary School

Following the statutory consultation period, Cambridgeshire County Council has approved the proposals (subject to planning permission being granted) to expand Little Paxton Primary School, Gordon Road, Little Paxton, PE19 6NG from 1 September 2017.

The expansion at Little Paxton Primary School will increase the school’s capacity from 330 pupils and a published admission number (PAN) of 34 to 420 pupils (2 Forms of Entry (FE)) with a PAN of 60. The number of pupils currently registered at the school is 283.

The school currently has 9 permanent classrooms and 2 further classrooms in temporary accommodation. The proposed expansion will add 7 new classrooms, additional group spaces, cloakroom areas, toilets and a small extension to the kitchen area. Improvements to the existing school include the creation of a new staff area, toilet, store and a studio hall. The building work is planned to be completed by July 2017. The temporary accommodation (a double mobile) will be removed from the site on completion of the works.

Cambridgeshire County Council will fund the new accommodation through a combination of S106 developer contributions and funding from within the Council's capital programme.
