Histon and Impington primary education consultation

Cambridgeshire County Council is working in collaboration with Cambridge Primary Education Trust (CPET) to permanently increase primary educational provision in Histon and Impington.

Histon and Impington are currently served by Histon and Impington Infant School and Histon and Impington Junior School which are run and managed as academies by CPET.

Cambridgeshire County Council's Children and Young People's Committee considered and agreed their approach at the meeting of 17 January 2017.

Histon and Impington Junior School will expand on its current site and extend its age range to serve children aged 4-11 to provide a total of 630 places (3 Forms of Entry).

A planning application for the expansion at Histon and Impington Junior School was submitted on 11 July 2017.

It is proposed for work to start on site in December 2017 with completion for the autumn term 2018.

Council officers are still exploring options with South Cambridgeshire District Council to the relocation of Histon and Impington Infant School. A consultation will follow in due course when firmer proposals are developed.
