Introducing the NHS COVID-19 app
The NHS COVID-19 app is part of a large scale Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing and contact tracing programme called the NHS Test and Trace Service. The app will be used, alongside traditional contact tracing, to notify users if they come into contact with someone who later tests positive for Coronavirus.
The app allows people to report symptoms, order a Coronavirus test and check into venues by scanning a QR (Quick Response) code.
The following document explains what the app is for, how it works, what to do if you have symptoms and how privacy and data are protected.
The following documents explain how to download the NHS Covid-19 app onto an Android or iOS / Apple phone, as well as what the alerts and notifications mean.
