Archaeology outreach and learning

Cambridgeshire Archaeology works in partnership with a host of public, private and voluntary organisations, including the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS), Cambridge Past, Present & Future (CPPF) and Oxford Archaeology East (OAE). This is to provide:

  • schools/college talks and projects
  • educational resources and national curriculum advice 
  • resource handling packs for schools
  • work experience and volunteer opportunities 
  • excavation open days
  • ancient monument activity days
  • Living History events and Festival of Archaeology events 
  • guided walks around Cambridgeshire's monuments 
  • tours for schools to archaeological sites in Cambridgeshire 
  • evening lectures and talks
  • conferences and exhibitions
  • community archaeology projects

Archaeology for schools

Cambridgeshire Archaeology can deliver talks and activity sessions to schools, which include a range of themes such as literacy or clothing. The sessions also offer the opportunity to handle real artefacts along with replicas.
