If you are unable to visit the Archives to carry out your own research or if you just need some extra help, the Historical Research Service gives you the opportunity to employ the expertise of our staff. All research will be to the highest standards and delivered to you within 15 working days of receiving your order.

It cannot be guaranteed the surviving records will contain every answer. If not you will be advised on further avenues of research as part of the service.

Births, marriages and deaths

The civil registration of births, marriages and deaths began in July 1837. Certificates for the local area can be purchased from the Cambridgeshire Registration Service

Tracing the history of a property is not always straightforward but most of the key sources that can help are held at Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Archives including historic Ordnance Survey maps, tithe maps, Land Value Duties maps and rate books.
