As part of Cambridgeshire Libraries’ celebration of Black History Month, we are especially pleased to be able to link to Prof Lucy Bland’s online exhibition ‘Brown Babies’. Lucy is Professor of Social and Cultural History at Anglia Ruskin University and the exhibition is based on the research for her book Britain’s ‘Brown Babies’: The stories of children born to black GIs and white women in the Second World War’. The exhibition is hosted on The Mixed Museum website.
The Mixed Museum is a digital museum and archive that documents the social history of racial mixing in Britain as part of a contribution to the widening of knowledge about the Black and ethnic minority presence in Britain.
Here is Lucy Bland introducing the exhibition.
