Training programme

People working with adults and older people across Cambridgeshire can access the Council's safeguarding training in line with local and national standards. Our training is based on principles from the Cambridgeshire adult safeguarding policy guidance and procedures.

All our courses reflect the multi-agency nature of adult safeguarding work but also allows participants to share their experiences, skills and knowledge. Effective safeguarding involves appropriate information sharing, knowledge of your role and the role of others.

Adult safeguarding training strategy

The Adult Safeguarding Training Strategy aims to enable all individuals who work with adults with care and support needs, paid or unpaid, to access the appropriate level of training to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding to safeguard adults from abuse within the county. Appendix 2 of the Adult Safeguarding Training Strategy outlines the standards for Safeguarding Adults at Risk: Making Safeguarding Personal, training for staff working with adults with care and support needs within the council's locality and contracted partners. It is designed to assist managers and staff in understanding their responsibilities within this area. Each organisation must ensure that Making Safeguarding Personal training is included in the induction programme of every new employee and existing staff.
