School place application system planned maintenance notice. We are moving to a new application system. During the upgrade you will be unable to apply for a school place from Wednesday 23 July at 5pm to Tuesday 26 August 2025.
Important Update: Change to the school application process
The School Admissions Team at Cambridgeshire County Council is moving to a new application system from the end of August 2025. The way parents/applicants will make applications will be improved.
If parents/applicants are planning to make an application for a school place, please be aware that the current application system (Citizen Portal via our website) will close on the 23 July at 5pm and reopen on the morning of the 26 August.
What should applicants/parents do?
Parents may continue to apply for school places using the current system via our website up to the 23 July at 5pm. After this date applicant/parents will need to wait until 26 August to submit applications as many schools will not be available due to the summer holidays and unable to respond to the Admissions Teams request for school places.
Already submitted an application for a school placement
If parents have already applied for a school placement for September 2025, there is no need to apply again. The application will continue to be processed, pending responses from schools, and will be transferred to the new system.

School admission information
It is parents and carers' responsibility to make an application for a school place. The School Admissions team manages school places in Cambridgeshire. We deal with applications for places in all school year groups, apart from sixth forms and colleges.
