Important dates for SEND transport
Please note that transport arrangements for the start of the spring term were only guaranteed for completed applications received by 5 December 2025. Applications received after this date will not have transport in place for the start of the spring term due to restricted procurement processes over the Christmas period.
Transport procurement recommenced on 6 January 2026 for completed applications* received after 5 December 2025. The earliest possible start date for new transport arrangements will be the week commencing 12 January 2026.
The current processing time for home-to-school transport requests is approximately one calendar month from receipt of a completed application to arrangements being in place.
*An application is considered complete once the Passenger Transport Team has received all the information necessary in order to proceed.
You are responsible for ensuring the necessary transport arrangements are made so that your children can attend school.
If your child is assessed as eligible for transport assistance, they may receive transport organised by Cambridgeshire County Council or a Personal Transport Budget (PTB). You can find out more information about eligibility and alternative travel options below.
