Arranging a Smart Flat viewing

For Cambridgeshire County Council colleagues

Before booking a visit, please complete the TECS Bitesize training via the Learning and Development platform Thinqi. This introductory module will help you understand TECS and get the most from your Smart flat visit.

Once training is complete and access to Thinqi is confirmed, you can book a date suitable for you and your team.

If you are not a Cambridgeshire County Council employee, please contact the TECS team at TECS@cambridgeshire.gov.uk for guidance on training and/or access.

This is our virtual tour of the TEC Smart Flat. Using virtual reality, this tour introduces and explains some of the technologies that are available.

How to navigate

  • For the best experience we recommend going using a desktop computer or larger screen. 
  • Click on the 'i' on the TV screen to select a language to start.
  • Click and drag to look and move around the flat.
  • Look for equipment headings (highlighted icons) throughout the flat. These indicate interactive elements - clicking them will reveal more information or a demonstration.
  • Click on plus (+) and play icons to bring up a short videos or pictorial explanations of equipment. These are narrated using AI voiceovers and provide a clear overview of the item’s purpose and how it works.
  • Use the navigation arrows to move between rooms or sections of the flat, such as the kitchen, bedroom, or living area.
