“Working for You” is a new campaign launched today, celebrating the work of the teams at Cambridgeshire County Council and the positive difference they make to lives and communities across the county.
The campaign will share stories from across the towns, villages, parishes and neighbourhoods of the county, highlighting the council’s role in building a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire – and demonstrating how your voices help to shape the services we deliver and the decisions we make.
Examples will span everything from libraries and community services to registration services supporting people through key life events; from the environmentally friendly household waste and recycling centres to the vital work of highways; from lifelong learning in schools and adult education; right the way through to children’s and adult social services supporting the very youngest to the very oldest of residents across Cambridgeshire.
As part of the campaign, the council will also share insights from its Quality of Life survey. Over the last three years, this survey has captured what matters most to residents, which informs the way we design our services and make decisions. The latest results show increasing levels of trust in the council, that we listen to and act on your priorities, and that we’re delivering value for money.
The campaign will also feature videos of residents and the people who access our services, sharing first-hand experiences of how the county council makes a difference to their lives every day.
Councillor Lucy Nethsingha, Leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, said:
“I am hugely proud of Cambridgeshire County Council and the dedication of our hardworking people who deliver vital services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
“This campaign is an important opportunity to highlight how their work improves lives and strengthens communities, while helping us achieve our vision of a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire for everyone.
“The insights you have shared with us through the Quality of Life Survey ensure we are well prepared for the future – particularly as we approach the Government’s reorganisation of local councils, known as LGR. Your feedback will help shape our submissions, so they reflect the voices of the communities we serve. We look forward to sharing these findings as part of this campaign.”
