"On Sunday 9 March 2025, we mark five years since the COVID-19 pandemic changed our lives in ways we could never have imagined. This Day of Reflection is a moment to remember those we lost, acknowledge the sacrifices made and reflect on the resilience shown by our communities".
"The pandemic brought profound sorrow across Cambridgeshire and our nation, but it also revealed the best in people. We saw frontline workers go above and beyond, neighbours supporting one another and communities coming together in the face of adversity. As we look back, we honour those who are no longer with us and recognise those who continue to feel the impact of COVID-19".
"I encourage everyone to take part in this Day of Reflection and remember in a way meaningful to them, observing a moment of silence or attending local events. Let us stand together in remembrance and gratitude, carrying forward the spirit of unity and kindness that defined us in those difficult times".
Councillor Sebastian Kindersley, Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council.
More details on how to take part can be found at COVID-19 Day of Reflection 2025.
