The Hot Pots Cafe, which helps support people with learning disabilities and autism develop independence and employment skills, recently held an open day.
Coffee and cake was on offer, as well as a chance to find out more about the opportunities that the cafe provides for people with learning disabilities and autism.
The cafe is one of several employment projects run for adults with learning disabilities in Cambridgeshire.
The Hot Pots Café, located at March Community Centre and March Town Cricket Club, is more than a place to enjoy lunch. It serves as a dynamic training environment where young adults can gain hands-on experience in a supportive setting. The café has been designed to enhance young adults' confidence, work ethic, and social skills, laying the foundation for future employment opportunities.
Cllr Richard Howitt, Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council’s Adults and Health Committee said “We are thrilled to see such a wonderful turnout. Hot Pots Café is more than just a place to enjoy lunch. We’re really proud of the work being done here. This open day was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talents and determination of the volunteers. We hope it will inspire more young adults with learning disabilities or autism to consider getting involved.”
