Statement on the B1050 Station Road collision

Update 17 April:

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: “Following the road traffic collision at the crossroads on the B1050 Station Road, Northstowe yesterday (Wednesday, 16 April), the road and the Guided Busway have both re-opened.

“An assessment of the road and the busway was carried out at 6am today (Thursday, 17 April). The Guided Busway safely re-opened at 7am.

“We continue to work with the emergency services, and the bus operator.”

Original statement published 16 April:

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesperson said: “We’re aware of a road traffic collision at the crossroads on the B1050 Station Road, Northstowe. The incident occurred this afternoon (Wednesday, 16 April) at 2.10pm. It involved a fire engine and two buses.

“We’re working with the emergency services, and the bus operator. The road is closed in both directions and buses on the Guided Busway will be diverted.

“The diversion route is via Longstanton roundabout to the A1307 at Swavesey to Over crossroads.”
