The Library Presents reveals its most adventurous line-up so far

30 January 2025

This Spring Cambridgeshire libraries will be once again filled with the sounds of delighted audiences of all ages enjoying the performances and workshops of The Library Presents.

Returning in March, for its fifteenth season, the programme features a virtual reality dance game and a creative coding workshop alongside the much-loved performances of music, dance, puppetry and visual arts workshops that will appeal to The Library Presents’ loyal fans.

Hundreds of local residents participated in the process of “choosing” from a menu of artists and have helped create a line-up that reflects the interests of our local communities.

New workshops and cutting-edge technology

Willow weaving and leather flower making workshops feature alongside old favourites such as fused glass artistry and samba drumming. Tech enthusiasts will love the immersive EmbodyXR, a virtual reality dance game exploring themes of anxiety and coping strategies and the Creative Coding Workshop, where participants are invited to dive into interactive digital design.

Funded by Arts Council England

Cambridgeshire is one of a small number of library authorities funded to help bring high-quality arts programmes to local communities, thanks to the continued funding from Arts Council England.

Hazel Edwards, South East Area Director, Arts Council England, said: "The Library Presents continues to be a shining example of how libraries can transform into vibrant cultural hubs. This season’s adventurous programme, combining traditional arts with cutting-edge technology, truly has something to offer for everyone! It is wonderful to see libraries reflecting the interests and needs of local communities across Cambridgeshire."
