Young people across Cambridgeshire receiving GCSE results today (Thursday 20 August), have been praised for their hard work and successes.
Cllr Edna Murphy, Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council’s Children and Young People Committee said:
“Well done to all the children in Cambridgeshire who sat their GCSEs this year and are receiving their results today. We live in world where there is so much noise and distraction for young people so I’m extremely proud of what they have achieved.
“This is a milestone moment in your life, and I hope these results are proof of what you can accomplish when you put your mind to something and work hard to achieve it.
“I’d also like to congratulate the teachers and families that have worked tirelessly over the last few years, supporting pupils to do their very best.
“Grades do not always reflect how hard a student has worked, so for anyone feeling unhappy over their results today, please know there is help available to support you as you make decisions about your next steps.
“I am wishing you all the very best of luck as you progress towards your future.”
