We have been developing a workforce support plan and have a vision for the social care workforce across the county to feel able and supported to build a ‘career in care’. The first of the initiatives for Adults’ is the procurement of the Care Professional Academy (CPA) for all providers in Cambridgeshire to access free of charge.
What is the Care Professional Academy?
The CPA is an online platform enabling care professionals to log training certificates and qualifications and gain access to exclusive rewards and discounts at over 800 UK retailers including Sainsbury’s, Argos, Boots, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, John Lewis/Waitrose, Pizza Hut and many more.
What are the benefits of the Care Professional Academy
- Provides access to CCC developed training offers in particular, the delivery of the Care Certificate and assessor training as well as other recommended or funded training such as registered manager coaching/leadership training and complex home care training.
- Employers can track and monitor staff training and development and incentivise their staff to engage with further training.
- Provides care professionals with a training passport to carry with them when moving employers.
- Enables the council to directly communicate with our provider workforce without going through their employers.
- Available to Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) staff including reablement workers, support workers, registered managers and adult social care coordinators.
