Safeguarding Policy for Education and Social Care Transport

Our Safeguarding Policy for Education and Social Care Transport sets out the responsibilities of the Council, for Transport Providers and for drivers and passenger assistants.

The Council will make sure training is available, ensure that Transport Providers have procedures in place and will put in processes for safeguarding concerns to be raised.

Transport Providers are expected to adhere to the procedures put in place, have a designated Safeguarding Lead and that all their personnel working with children and adults with care needs are aware of the things they need to do and the things they need to look out for.

Drivers and passengers assistants have a responsibility to report concerns. Safeguarding children and adults with care needs goes beyond safe transport and everyone has a duty to report any concerns they have about a someone’s safety.
