The Care Certificate Programme

The Care Certificate is aimed at all new staff to the Health and Social Care sector and is usually completed within the first 12 weeks of their new role. To support care providers in our county, we have developed an innovative programme aimed at supporting not just staff new to the Health and Social Care sector but also to those in senior positions that are assessing the Care Certificate. Please see below the 3 unique packages we have on offer.

Carers:

  • e-Learning package (all 15 standards) for learner to complete along with workbook.
  • Care Certificate assessors e-Learning module for the assigned assessor.
  • Care Certificate assessors will access - Drop-in support sessions and resources to assist in assessing the Care Certificate. Each month there will be a new topic to discuss and reflect on.
  • Ad-hoc observations to be completed on site, supporting care certificate assessors. A Learning and Development Adviser from Cambridgeshire County Council will visit the organisation in partnership with the assessor, staff, and manager.

Personal assistants:

  • e-Learning package (all 15 standards) for learner to complete along with workbook.
  • Each learner will be assigned a Learning and Development Assessor from Cambridgeshire County Council. This will allow for an individualised support and guidance throughout the Care Certificate Programme.
  • A Learning and Development Assessor will visit the workplace to provide support and complete assessments. This is an opportunity to receive developmental feedback to further their skills.

Training takes place at Stanton House, Huntingdon from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
