Universal Credit for Childcare
Universal Credit is a new single payment for people who are looking for work or on a low income. It replaces means-tested benefits and tax credits for working-age people up to pension credit age. Visit Understanding Universal Credit for more information.
If you are on Universal Credit, you may be eligible for up to 85% of your childcare costs up to a maximum of £950.92 for one child, £1630.15 for 2 or more children.
If you are in receipt of one of the eligibility criteria’s and your child is 2, 3 or 4 years old and in registered early years childcare, they may be entitled to Early Years Pupil Premium.
EYPP is paid directly to your childcare provider. Currently the amount is 68p per hour. Providers can use the funding to support your child’s learning and development.
